Oh Christmas Tree!

This year has been so special! Jake and Joey came in on Christmas Eve and EE was so very excited to see them!!!!!!!! We then went to Aunt Sharons and Uncle Toms house for our yearly Eve party.

Christmas Morning was so nice. EE woke us up at 5am! They came downstairs to see what goodies Santa left!!!!!! Jake and Joey got PSP's and games mainly. EE got train goodies, a kitchen and a table to color or eat on. He was SO happy!!!!! Jerry's parents sent him Wiggle bedding. We then went to my parents house to spend the day with my family. Both of my brothers were there with their familys. Boo Boo was sick though, and wasn't up to playing much with EE. :(

It's Beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

Looking back to this time last year, we just purchased our first house. We were unpacking, trying to settle in the house, trying to start our new jobs, and just trying to adjust into our new lives. It was Christmas time, but for the first time since Jerry and I had been together- we didn't decorate.

Last weekend the outside lights went up! Tonight (much to EE's delight) it was time to put up the tree. We played Christmas music in the background as EE helped us hang our ornaments. We had a great time and EE was enthralled in the spirit. He then gave us a lesson on what Santa was going to do on Christmas Eve! HA!

A Sad Day in the World of Wiggles

For those of you that know EE, you know that he adores The Wiggles. There have been rumors flying around for months that the "lead" singer of The Wiggles (Greg-the Yellow shirt wearer) was ill. On November 30, they officially announced his retirement.

His long-time understudy, Sam Moran will be replacing him. Sam has already performed over 100 showed in place of Greg. But, it just won't be the same in Wiggle World. EE LOVES The Wiggles, and well....I too have become a fan.

What does Greg have? A chronic, non-life threatening illness called orthostatic intolerance, which causes low blood pressure when sufferers stand up. Thats the short version.

Yes, today is a sad day indeed. I'm sure that The Wiggles themselves are feeling the loss.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year was the first year in 3 years that I have been home for Thanksgiving. Jerry has never had the chance to spend Thansgiving with my family. What wonderful chaos it is! However, this year EE has had an on again-off again cough. So, as nice as it was to be home, he wasn't 100%

My dad made his turkey, my mom made all of her wonderful trimmings. My brother and his family were there. EE adores his cousin Chas (he calls him "boo boo") We had such a nice time just being together and talking about old times. That's what the holidays should be like. The smells. The laughter. Birthday Party Fun

Well, my best friends daughter (Fayth) turned 2 this weekend. Jerry and I took EE to Huntsville, (which is only about an hour from our house) for her birthday party. They decided to have it as McDonald's since they were also moving that weekend and EE had a BLAST. He decided to plant himself up in the "tree house" that they have and spend most of his time up there. Much to our dismay, he figured out that we could not come and get him. He then figured out what great fun it was tormenting us with that said fact. Actually though, it wasn't so bad. He wore himself out climbing in and out of the different tunnels. Then proceeded to eat french fries and drink tons of milk. It was a great time to visit with Tiffany and her family. I've included a little slide show. Hope you enjoy!

Trick-or-Treat

Last night was our first night really trick-or-treating with EE. We've dressed him up for the last 2 years just for our sakes (we thought he looked cute), but this year he was starting to understand!

To be honest, Jerry and I waited until the very last minute to get his costume. Add that to the fact that it's very hot in Texas, and our choices where limited. He is still into the Wiggles so we decided to go with the Captain Feather Sword theme and he LOVED it.

Our plan was to take him to just a few houses in the neighborhood and then go back home and let him help pass out candy to the trick-or-treaters. That plan lasted all but 5 minutes. After we hit the first house he was convinced that trick-or-treating was his new calling in life. He had the routine down pat. He would go up to the door (holding my hand and his Elmo bucket) and proudly exclaim "trick-or-treat" about 3 times before anyone would even get to the door. He would then repeat it when they answered the door. Then came his sweet beaming thank-you as the candy passed into the bucket.

What started out 2 or 3 houses ended up becoming an entire street and a whole bucket full of candy. We finally went home where he helped Jerry pass out candy. He would squeal in delight every time he heard the door bell ring. We did have to convince him that it was not OK to give 2 fist fulls of candy to every child and it was also not OK to trick-or-treat in our bucket every time he passed out candy to someone else! HA!

All in all, he had a blast and I must say- so did we. Here are a few pictures of our adorable pirate (minus the eye patch).

Monsoons Move to Texas!

Today is not one that I will likely forget for a very LONG time! Today was my first day of work. I had to be there at 745, which meant that I needed to leave my house at 6am to drop EE off........

Lets just say that things didn't go exactly as planned.....
I'm not KIDDING! :eek: I got awakened (LOL is that a word?) at 3am by a MONSOON and I was praying that it was going to let up.

At 530 I backed the van up to the house as close as I could to lessen EE getting soaked and at 550 we both climbed in the back and closed the door as I buckled him in.

615 they FINALLY got to the daycare (they open at 6am I guess someone had issues at home too). I got back on the road in a panic, praying I would make it on time....
HOLY COW...high water..... I can't stop (cars behind me) I can't pull over (I'm in the middle lane).....I make it through.....

Driving slowly...pulse is thumping, traffic is horrible...visibility is ZERO....OK there is the highway ramp up ahead.....ummmm wait.....why are the cars going the WRONG WAY!? In a single line they are ....going the wrong way!!!!!

OK.....I can do this....I turn around....I'm going to be late to my first day of work......
Alternate route......I'm lost though......I call Jerry....He gets me back on the road......

NOOOOOOO my alternate route is flooded too! I'm about to cry. It's pouring outside, I can't see, I'm supposed to be down town in 45 minutes and I'm parked outside of a gas station about to have a panic attack. Literally. I don't even know if I can get home at this point.

Then I think of one more way. At this point though, I have little hope.
I make it. (doing the mental happy dance) Ironically there are hardly any cars on the freeway that I'm on. I guess they are all stalled out on the other freeways.

Fast forward to the drive home....
I get lost again trying to find another "alternate route"

Why you ask?
My way home is....yes.....FLOODED.

I ask a kind lady who I swear at first thinks I'm trying to rob her for directions.
She gets me to the highway where I sit for an hour.

Onward I finally get to my exit HOME!!!!!!!!! YAYYYYY

Nope. It's closed! AHHHHHHHHHHHH. :angry: :angry: :angry:

By the time I did get home, I needed a strong drink but settled for a little family time and some snuggles with EE and laughs with Jerry.
They called the weather "training" today. One bad storm after another. It was one for the record books and on the first day of my job no less.
But I made it!

The Pledge and Sunny Skies

Yesterday as EE and I were spending quality time together, he decided to bless me with his many hidden abilities. He stood up straight, put his hand on his heart and started to recite the The Pledge of the Allegiance. I didn't understand all of it but I did understand enough of it to know what he was saying. I almost burst into tears. They say it every day at his daycare.

He was so proud to be showing me what he could do that he then showed me his new song that he knew. It's called what I'm guessing is the "Sunny Song" S-U-N-N-Y" over and over and over and OVER....but he knows it. When it's sunny outside they sing that song.

This weekend EE got to spend more time with his cousin Chas (Boo). They play SO well together and are becoming best friends. You should hear them laugh together. We were riding together in the car and they were in the back seat talking and cracking themselves up. It warmend my heart to hear them together.

This past Saturday, we all went over to my mom's house (as I always do with EE). My brother, his wife Eunice, and their son Chas (we fondly call Boo) was there. My mom let them bake cookies!!!!!!! They play so well together, chasing each other around...and seeing what they can get into. There is only 7 weeks difference in age so it's great! EE is still teething and with it comes a cough and runny nose. Other than that, he is very happy. He has started saying "Oh my goodness"! and "Well Mommy"? with crossed arms as he waits for me to do something. His obsession with the Wiggles is back full force and UGH we have to watch or listen to them ALL of the time. Oh I hope this passes soon!

Cooking with EE

Well, EE has decided that he loves to "cook" with us. So, we indulge him. We sit him on the counter (with close supervision, of course) and let him cook with his own pot. He LOVES being apart maing our dinner (or breakfast).

On another note....EE went potty IN the potty all day today!!! That is a HUGE milestone for us!!! YAY YAY YAY!

As for teething, that's still going on. He did get sick as well and that hasn't been so much fun but I think we may be over the worse part of it. Here are some updated pics! Enjoy!

Houston....We Have More Teeth!

Yes, it's confirmed by Mommy's finger! The runny nose, the grumpy days, and the early mornings....all caused by three (yes 3) soon to be 2-year old molars that are coming in. ACK! I can only imagine the pain he must be in. I can't confirm the 4th one just yet because, well, to be quite honest--he got tired of my finger being in his mouth and clamped down! So, I have no idea if that 4th one is coming in as well! LOL.

If these molars follow the trend like his other teeth did, they will be here in no time. EE was an early teether. Let's just hope for a speedy teething process so that I'm not bald in a month!

The "Terrible" Two's

Well, these past few weeks sure have been interesting....EE is learing to test his boundaries like there is no tomorrow. He last learned to call me "mean" when he's mad at me (or anyone for that matter). He tires to tell me no and OHHHH the temper tantrums!

I think he may also be getting his 2-year old molars right now as well. He sure has been grumpy the last few days. Normally he is a very happy child but WOW......his temper! LOL

He LOVES hugs and kisses, he loves to sing (at the top of his lungs I might add), he loves to count, he loves for us to read books to him, but when he tests us....he TESTS us.

I know it's normal but LOL I really can't wait for this phase to pass!

This is why I love EE's Daycare...

EE is in the best daycare (in my opinion) that he could possibly be in. No matter what activity they have planned, they are constantly teaching him. Every week they send him home with a new schedule of what they are going to learn for the week. They concentrate on certain words, letters, songs, and values. Every single activity that they do is centered on what they are learning. Every fun thing they color or sing has something to learn! Not only that, he's having a BLAST doing it.

Yesterday they had a learning sessions about birds. Not only did he get to learn all about them and the different types, he got his picture taken with one!!!!!!

Playing Before Bedtime...

Lately EE has been more of a mommy's boy than a daddy's boy, but for the last few days, he sure has been wanting his daddy! Tonight daddy was a jungle gym!!!! EE takes gymnastics at daycare and boy does that make him fearless! He was flipping over Jerry's shoulders like there was no tomorrow! I grabbed some pictures for your viewing pleasure!

Crayons....Bleh

Just when you THINK you have them all hidden, a 2-year old can FIND just one. So, yesterday I turned my back on EE for just a minute or 2. He comes walking up to me and grabs my hand and says "Come here Mommy". He proudly walks me over into our foyer were he shows off his artwork. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....my pristine white wall right by my front door (the whole height of EE) is now BLUE...... Alas, I can't be mad though.....I did turn my back...even if it WAS for a moment. UGH.

Also, he has changed daycare rooms (they change every 6 months) and he's not digging that so much. He's a lot like his mommy in that aspect. He doesn't like change. He does OK after the first 10 minutes or so, but he sure hates it when I leave. He's doing really well otherwise.

It's pretty quite now that the boys have gone home and all of us are really sad about that. We miss them a ton and it's weird not seeing their faces every day.

Jake went home 2 weeks ago and Joey left yesterday. The house sure is quiet now and is going to take some getting use to. EE is still asking about them both. We miss them already!
